JPEGCrops readme file *** What is this? *** The purpose of JPEGCrops is to prepare multiple JPEG images for printing. It uses fixed aspects and the JPEGTran utility for lossless cropping. *** Installation *** Unpack all files to your directory of choise and run JPEGCrops.exe. The program creates some files in the installation directory, but doesn't change the registry. Uninstall by deleting the directory. If the program is to be used by multiple users on the same maschine, it might be a good idea to let each user have his own settings file. This can be done by creating a file in the same folder as JPEGCrops. The file should have the name "UseIndividualSettings.txt", the contents of the file doesn't matter. When a user starts JPEGCrops for the first time, the JPEGCrops.ini file in the JPEGCrops folder will be used as a template for said users settings. The next time the user starts the program, his own settings will be used. User settings are stored in the Application Data folder, which is typically C:\Documents and Settings\SomeUser\Application Data *** Usage *** Add images to the list by using the "Add images..." button or by drag'n'drop. Adjust the cropping areas with the mouse or keyboard (check the Shortcuts menu under Help). Press "Crop Images" and JPEGCrops will copy the cropped images to the selected directory. The originals are left untouched. *** Contact *** Toke Eskildsen darkwing@daimi.au.dk http://ekot.dk/JPEGCrops/ *** Distribution *** This is freeware, so pass it around if you like.
